Sister Carole MacKenthun is a 6th grade teacher at St. Catharine School in Spring Lake. Sister Carole has been a teacher for an incredible 45 years after realizing when she was in 2nd grade that she wanted to be both a sister and a teacher. By the time she reached 8th grade, she wanted to also become a missionary as well. She achieved these dreams and has been a Sister of Mercy for over 50 years. Sister Carole has spent the last 20 years at St. Catharine School and has also written books in both religion and Language Arts for students as well as teachers. In addition to her in-class teaching style which incorporates state-of-the-art technology, she has spent the past 12 summers in Uganda to bring education and health care to orphaned and needy children. Assistant Principal Patricia Rowan says "Sister Carole is everything you would want in a teacher. The faculty and staff of St. Catharine School have been inspired by her." For this and more reasons we can't even count, Sister Carole MacKenthun will be inducted into the 100.1 WJRZ Teachers Who Rock Class of 2014.
