Hometown Heroes Zombie 5K Fun Run

100.1 WJRZ is proud to be a part of the Hometown Heroes Zombie 5K Fun Run on Sunday, November 2nd starting at 9am. Hosted on 100 acres at Argos Farm in Forked River, the Zombie 5K will feature apocalyptic obstacles, including a giant corn maze. We’ll also have free face painting at The Zombification Station by professional make-up artists.

Enjoy the day with family and friends at Argos’ brand new Farm Market and Café, by savoring seasonal treats, including apple cider donuts and fudge. Come for the run, but stay for the fun!

We will be giving away prizes for Best Zombie, First Finisher and so much more!

Dr. Ron Rotem’s Halloween Candy Buy Back

100.1 WJRZ will be at Dr. Ron Rotem’s office, 355 Lakehurst Road in Toms River on Monday, November 3rd from 2 to 4pm to support Dr. Rotem’s Halloween Candy Buy Back Contest for our troops.

Dr. Ron Rotem’s 10th annual Halloween Candy Buy Back to support our troops is going to be monsterous. Starting Monday, November 3rd through Tuesday, November 4th, Dr. Ron Rotem will pay $1.00 per pound of candy, up to 10 pounds per family, with a $50.00 gift card to the child who brings in the most candy by weight.

And attention teachers! If your class brings in the most candy by weight, your class can earn a $400.00 donation from Dr. Rotem. Any class of a public or a private school can participate.

Downtown Toms River Farmers Market

Join 100.1 WJRZ at the Downtown Toms River Jersey Fresh Farmers’ Market on Wednesday, November, 5th in lot H, on the southeast corner of West Water and Irons Streets in Downtown Toms River from 11am to 5pm, rain or shine. Join us the first Wednesday of each month to celebrate Jersey Fresh Fruit and vegetables. Enter the free raffle to win a basket of Jersey Fresh produce, featuring the fruit and vegetable of the month.

Share The Joy

100.1 WJRZ presents the live broadcast of “Share The Joy” at the Perlmutter Family ShopRite, 431 Atlantic City Blvd., (Route 9) in Bayville, Friday and Saturday, November 21st and 22nd, starting at 6am and going on through the weekend until we fill a tractor trailer with non-perishable food items, gently used clothing, new unwrapped toys, and pet food, towels and blankets, all to benefit Ocean County Hunger Relief, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Jersey Shore Animal Center. Sponsored by our friends at Pepsi and the New Jersey Lottery.

Tuckerton Seaport FREE Dinner

South Jersey needs a little Christmas, and Tuckerton Seaport, in partnership with the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and 100.1 WJRZ invites all local families, regardless of need, to come together to enjoy a free meal and give thanks on Saturday, November 30th from noon to 4pm at the Tuckerton Seaport & Baymen’s Museum, 120 West Main Street (Route 9) in Tuckerton.

This community meal will be hosted on the Seaport’s grounds under a huge heated tent. Enjoy entertainment and plenty of family activities, including make-and-take crafts perfect for the holidays. This community event and activities will be offered at no cost.

The community meal at the Seaport will feature a Giving Tree, where guests can spread a little holiday cheer by selecting a local family and buying them holiday gifts.  If you know of a family in Southern Ocean County who is in need, please let us know so we can find them a Secret Santa. Santa’s Little Helpers will have until the second weekend in December to drop off their gifts.

Downtown Toms River Christmas Tree Lighting

Have some holiday fun with 100.1 WJRZ's Glenn Kalina at the Downtown Toms River Christmas Tree Lighting, Friday, December 5th starting at 6pm. The Christmas Tree Lighting festivities begin around the Christmas Tree at Town Hall Courtyard. Toms River Fire Co. #1 will arrive with Santa at 7:30pm for the Tree lighting and kids can enjoy photos with Santa at Town Hall.

Jingle Bells Run

Join 100.1 WJRZ at the 16th annual Jingle Bells Run, presented by The Rotary Club of Toms River, Sunday, December 7th on Washington Street, Downtown Toms River. The one-mile Fun Run starts at 3pm, with the 5k Race beginning at 3:30pm. Dedicated to the Memory of Det. Mark Catalano of the Toms River Police Department, The Rotary Club of Toms River is establishing an annual Law Enforcement student scholarship in his name.
