Lacey Township Emergency Medical Service is looking for new members who are at least sixteen years of age or older to volunteer and staff one of our ambulances. Ocean County Library New Year Schedule

All branches of the Ocean County Library will close at 5pm on Wednesday, December 31st and remain closed on Thursday, January 1st, 2015. The branches will reopen on Friday, January 2nd.

Seaside Heights First Night Ocean County

The Seaside Heights Business Improvement District will host "First Night Ocean County," a family friendly New Year’s celebration on Wednesday, December 31st from noon to 5pm. Enjoy a day filled with children’s shows, face painters, balloonists, caricature portrait drawings and more at each of the participating arcades along the Boardwalk, culminating in a fireworks display at 5pm. $5 bracelets are on sale at the County Connection inside the Ocean County Mall on Hooper Avenue in Toms River. Visit Exit82.com for more information.

Ocean County Library Prom Dress Giveaways

All branches of the Ocean County Library will begin collecting gently used gowns and formal dresses on January 5th for its annual Prom Dress Giveaways.

Dresses can be both long and short styles for teens and can include bridesmaid’s dresses and cocktail dresses. Donations of shoes, handbags and accessories are also welcome.

To donate the items, simply deliver them to any one of the 21 locations in Ocean County. Donations will be accepted until April 27th.

The annual event provides dresses to middle school and high school aged students at no charge, so they can attend their school’s graduations and dances. This year the Prom Dress Giveaways will take place at the following library branches:

Lakewood, Saturday, March 28th: 10am-3pm.

Barnegat, Tuesday, March 31st: 4-8pm and Wednesday, April 1st: 4-8pm.

Little Egg Harbor, Wednesday, April 22nd: 4-8pm and Thursday, April 23rd: 4-8pm.

Manchester, Tuesday, April 28th: 4-8pm.

Toms River, Thursday, April 30th: 4-8pm, Friday, May 1st: 1-4pm and Saturday, May 2nd: 10am-3pm.

Special Days Camp Winter Fundraiser

St. Francis Community Center Family Support Services "Blissful Babies"

St. Francis Community Center Family Support Services would like to announce "Blissful Babies," a five  week class, starting on Tuesday, January 20th. The classes will be held every Tuesday at the Stafford Branch of the Ocean County Library, located at 129 N. Main Street. This group session provides guidance on the communication of touch with parent and baby. This process will be modeled by instructors who have completed Part 1 in their training with Infant Massage USA. Training will provide parents with specific, proven infant massage techniques to promote: bonding and attachment, healthy sleeping, relaxation for baby and parent and reduce symptoms associated with colic and gas. Cell Phones for Soldiers

Cell Phones for Soldiers are being collected by Nancy Seibert, along with the Berkeley Twp. Regular Republican Club “Support the Troops Project."

They collect any phone in any condition and send them to a recycler for free 60-minute calling cards for our troops serving overseas.

If you have an old cell phone to donate, or have a soldier serving overseas and would like to send them free calling cards, call Nancy at 732-232-5410.
