Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals annual Summer Gala

On Wednesday, July 23rd from 6 to 10pm the Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals will host its 5th annual Summer Gala at Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club, 512 Seawaneka Ave. in Oceanport. The charitable evening will raise lifesaving funds to support the efforts of nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue organizations from across the United States.

The evening will feature beautiful sunset views on the Shrewsbury River, live music, 50/50 cash drawings, silent auctions, a delicious menu by the Lusty Lobster, wine and beer by Vic Rallo and 90 + Cellars, decadent desserts, music, dancing and more. Soulsational Music & Wellness Festival

The Soulsational Music & Wellness Festival will take place at Veterans Park in Bayville on Saturday, July 26th from 11am to 8pm. The festival is a free community event, featuring live music, local health and wellness businesses and practitioners, giveaways, a silent auction, and lots of opportunities to give back and unite the Jersey Shore community. It is being organized by Alternative Health Solutions of NJ and Live Positive Today.

The Soulsational Music & Wellness Festival was created to honor, share, and explore the many healing modalities, practitioners, organizations, and businesses devoted to health, wellness, and happiness right here on the Jersey Shore. Its goal is to increase awareness of the many different green, holistic, organic, and healthy options within our community, support the local economy and offer a unique positive interactive family experience for all those in attendance.

There are still some opportunities available for businesses to be a part of the festival, including: sponsorship, exhibitor vendor spaces, and crafters.

Athletics in Action Soccer Camp

Athletics in Action Soccer Camp will be sponsored by Emmanuel Community Church in Bayville. The camp will be held July 28th thru August 1st from 6-8pm at the Station Road Soccer Field at 42 Station Road in Bayville. This is for boys and girls ages 5-13. The cost is $35.00 and the children will receive an Athletics in Action t-shirt, Adidas soccer ball and a snack. They will be well supervised and in a safe environment. Beach Ball-A-Palooza

The Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation will be throwing a Beach Ball-A-Palooza on Friday, August 1st for all ages from 5:30-8:30pm at Ocean County Park, 659 Ocean Avenue, Lakewood, Many beachy themed groups will be joining the event. There will be kayaking and canoeing on the lake and live music. The family fun will include games, rides, crafts, water sports and community info. Bring your beach blanket, and wear your tropical shirt and enjoy the party. There is no admission fee. The event is held rain or shine. Phil Wickham Benefit Concerts

On Saturday, August 2nd, singer/songwriter Phil Wickham is coming to New Jersey to perform two concerts in support of Jersey Shore United. JSU is a non-profit that has been assisting families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Beatlemania Stage Show Benefit Concert

The Beatlemania Stage Show Concert to benefit Housing and United Services Inc., which works to assist individuals with vision loss and other disabilities, will be on Sunday, August 3rd at the Two River Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue in Red Bank from 3 to 5pm. Festival of the Sea Carnival

St. Francis of Assisi Parish will once again be hosting the Festival of the Sea Carnival, Wednesday, August 6th through Sunday, August 10th, open nightly (weather permitting) from 6 to 10pm on the St. Francis Parish & Center parking lot located at 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach. Admission is FREE!

Pay one price (P.O.P) and ride all the rides you want - all night long. The Pay One Price ride bracelets cost only $25 Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, the POP bracelet is only $20.

Sheldon Wolpin Memorial Car Show Fundraiser

Lakewood Historical Society and the Lakewood Heritage Commission are holding the first "Sheldon Wolpin Memorial Car Show" Fundraiser on Sunday, August 17th from 2 to 6pm at the Clarence Brown Pavilion, Pine Park, (near the Lakewood Country Club), West County Line Road, Lakewood.

The pre-registration car entrance fee is $12 and $15 the day of the event. The car show lineup will begin at 1pm. The proceeds of the car show will benefit the renovations of Kuser Hall, the home of the Sheldon Wolpin Lakewood Heritage Museum, 500 Country Club Drive, Lakewood Pine Park, Lakewood.

Attendees can also enjoy music by the "Oldies Maven" Jimmy Givens, the "Dr. of Musicology"; a display by the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders; a P. B. A. Local #71 special full-sized charter bus, through Classic Tours, in memory of fallen police officers, and Local #71's S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) vehicle. P. B. A. members will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers to raise money for their organization.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

Cell Phones for Soldiers are being collected by Nancy Seibert, along with the Berkeley Twp. Regular Republican Club “Support the Troops Project."

They collect any phone in any condition and send them to a recycler for free 60-minute calling cards for our troops serving overseas.
